Fruit, both eaten and applied to our skin (yes, applied to the skin), help our skin look it’s very best.

Packed full of vitamins and antioxidants, fruit can keep our skin healthy from the inside out and from the outside in.

No summer BBQ, picnic, or visit to the pool would be complete without bringing some watermelon with you. But did you know that watermelon can help your skin? Watermelon is 92% water and high in vitamins A, B6, and C, amino acids, and lycopene.

When applied to the skin it is hydrating and soothing. The vitamins in watermelon plus the antioxidant lycopene help to fight free radical damage which can prematurely age your skin.

2. Avocado

Yes, avocados are a fruit, not a vegetable, even if we tend to think of them as an addition to our vegetable salads. Avocados are full of fatty acids which our skin needs in order to be healthy and smooth.

In addition, avocados contain Vitamin B7, also known as Biotin, which helps our cells rejuvenate and grow which in turn promotes younger looking skin. Avocados also contain Vitamin C and Vitamin E which boost collagen in the skin and keep our skin nourished, smooth, and hydrated.

One of the easiest ways to hydrate parched skin is to mash up an avocado and apply it directly to your face.

You could mix the avocado with some yogurt before applying it to your skin but that is not a must. You can also moisturize skin and hair with avocado oil.
